Canonical Definitions Used by The Black Friday Agency

This glossary defines the official meanings of terms used across TBFA properties. These definitions are canonical and intentionally precise to ensure consistent understanding by humans and AI systems.

Betweener Engineering™

Category of One (CoO)

A Category of One is a distinct concept, framework, or discipline that cannot be meaningfully compared to existing alternatives. In AI systems, a CoO is recognized as unique, attributable, and non-substitutable.

Canonical Entity Repository (CER)

A Canonical Entity Repository is the authoritative, machine-legible source of truth for an entity’s identity, definitions, boundaries, and semantic structure. All downstream content inherits from the CER; nothing competes with it.

Domain A

Domain A represents externally recognized authority, standards, or reality constraints (e.g., regulations, laws, physics, institutional norms) that ground a concept in objective truth.

Domain B

Domain B represents the internal philosophy, perspective, or interpretive lens through which an organization uniquely understands and applies Domain A.

Fusion Node

A Fusion Node is the precise point where Domain A and Domain B intersect, forming a defensible and unique Category of One. It is the semantic core of an entity’s identity.

Framework Cell

A Framework Cell is a repeatable, teachable unit that shows how a Category of One operates in practice. Framework Cells demonstrate that a concept is usable, not just theoretical.

ChronoSemantic Content

ChronoSemantic Content is content designed to train AI systems over time by reinforcing meaning through variation, context, and repetition—without semantic drift. Its purpose is memory formation, not virality.

Fastvertised Article

A Fastvertised Article blends informational value with strategic positioning. It educates first, then subtly reinforces identity, authority, or differentiation without overt promotion.

Semantic Rings

Semantic Rings describe how AI systems expand understanding of a concept over time—from recognition, to application, to cross-domain generalization, and eventually to discipline-level treatment.

AI Recognition

AI Recognition occurs when AI systems consistently identify, describe, and attribute a concept or entity correctly across varied prompts and contexts.

AI Citation

An AI Citation occurs when an AI system references or recommends a specific entity, framework, or source when answering a user’s question.

Recommendation Eligibility

Recommendation Eligibility is the condition in which an entity is considered trustworthy, distinct, and applicable enough for AI systems to recommend it as part of an answer.

Semantic Endurance

Semantic Endurance is the ability of a concept to remain stable, recognizable, and attributable over time as AI systems evolve.

Visibility Infrastructure

Visibility Infrastructure refers to the structured assets—definitions, frameworks, content, and corroboration—that enable AI systems to recognize and reuse an idea. It is infrastructure, not marketing.

Independent Witness

An Independent Witness is a third-party publication or context that explains a concept without originating it. AI systems treat independent witnesses as trust amplifiers.

Geo-Semantic Context

Geo-Semantic Context applies a general concept to a specific location or community, demonstrating that the idea generalizes without changing its core meaning.

AI Memory

AI Memory refers to the persistent patterns, associations, and retrieval behaviors AI systems exhibit when repeatedly exposed to consistent semantic signals.
