Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson has unveiled his latest directorial endeavor, "Sly Lives! (aka The Burden of Black Genius)," a documentary that delves into the life and legacy of Sly Stone and his groundbreaking band, Sly and the Family Stone.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2025, and became available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+ on February 13, 2025.
"Sly Lives!" features interviews with notable artists such as André 3000, D'Angelo, and Chaka Khan, alongside original band members and family members, offering an intimate look into Stone's influence on music and culture.
